PhD in Math @ UBC

Hi! I’m a first-year PhD student in the IAM program at UBC, supervised by Prof. Anotida Madzvamuse. My research interests lie at the intersection of mathematical biology, differential equations, and numerical analysis.

Prior to moving to Vancouver, I spent a year working as a graduate software engineer at THG in Manchester, where I (somewhat recklessly) became a Manchester City fan. Unfortunately, this coincided with a season in which City forgot how to win games — a fact for which I accept full responsibility.

Before that, I completed my MMath at Oxford in 2024. I was advised by Prof. Yuji Nakatsukasa, and my dissertation focused on numerical methods for electrochemical problems, supervised by Dr. Kathryn Gillow.

When I’m not doing math, I’m probably climbing plastic rocks. On the rare occasion that it isn’t raining, I’ll be out making the most of the slopes. If you’re ever in Vancouver, I’m always down for either adventure.

I also follow sports — F1, baseball, and European football — which probably makes me sound far more predictable than I’d like.

Feel free to reach out via email or any of my socials!

Writing

A space for unfiltered thoughts, reflections, and notes-in-progress. This is where I jot things down as they come: testimonies, ideas, lessons learned...

Puzzles

My friend suggested I include silly math games when I told him I was setting up a personal site. This is a WIP but hopefully it will be entertaining.
